Momentum Grows for Jeff Denham As More Key Local Endorsements Announced
FRESNO, CA -- Republican State Senator Jeff Denham's congressional campaign continues to gain momentum, as more key supporters came on board over the New Year holiday. Denham announced his candidacy last week after incumbent Congressman George Radanovich made public his decision to not seek reelection and endorsed Denham.
In addition to Congressman Radanovich, Denham quickly received endorsements from a large contingent of California Republican congressional members.
Local endorsements for Denham now include all five Madera County Supervisors, Madera Council Member Sally Bomprezzi, Madera Council Member Robert Poythress, Madera Council Member Steve Mindt, Modesto Mayor Jim Ridenour, Modesto Council Member Kristin Olsen, Modesto Council Member Joe Muratore, Modesto Council Member Dave Lopez, Modesto Council Member Dave Geer, Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christianson, Waterford Mayor Charlie Goeken, Oakdale Mayor Farrell Jackson, Hughson Council Member Matt Beekman, Turlock Mayor John Lazar, Turlock Council Member Ted Howze, Turlock Council Member Kurt Spycher, Mariposa Supervisor Jim Allen, and Tuolumne Supervisor John Gray.
Republican leaders from the central valley who have already endorsed Denham for Congress include Congressman Kevin McCarthy and State Assemblymembers Tom Berryhill and Bill Berryhill, who between them represent 200,000 constituents in the 19th congressional district.
"The support I am receiving from the district is tremendous and I am honored that so many elected officials appreciate the kind of leadership I can bring on issues like water, jobs and government reform," said Denham.
Denham is a valley almond grower and businessman as well as a 16 year veteran of the United States Air Force. In addition to running his business and farm, he has served central California in the State Senate for seven years, where he has established a record as a strong proponent for taxpayers, farmers and small business owners.
