Former Fresno Mayor Alan Autry Endorses Jeff Denham for Congress

FRESNO, CA -- Former Mayor Alan Autry, one of the most popular political leaders in the Valley, announced today that he is supporting Republican Senator Jeff Denham for Congress in the 19th district.

"I was deeply saddened to hear of Congressman George Radanovich's decision to retire, but fully understand his desire to spend all his time with his family while his wife, Ethie, battles cancer," said Autry. "Much like George Radanovich, Jeff Denham has the personal integrity, strong values and deep background in agriculture we need representing our area in Congress.  Fresno County, and the entire 19th district, will be well-served by having Jeff in Congress.

"These are very challenging times for the Valley and we need proven leaders working for us. Jeff Denham has always fought for us in the State Senate and will continue to fight for us in Congress," Autry went on to say.

Autry was elected Mayor of Fresno in 2000 and reelected in 2004. Prior to his election, Autry was an NFL player for the Green Bay Packers and a well known film and TV actor. He currently is a Radio Talk show host in Fresno and an independent film producer.
