Endorses Jeff Denham for Congress

FRESNO, CA - - The Fresno Police Officers Association has endorsed Jeff Denham for Congress in the 19th district.

"Jeff Denham is a great friend of law enforcement," said FPOA President Jacky Parks.  "He knows that officers patrolling neighborhoods are the greatest deterrent to crime and the only way to keep our community safe. Jeff Denham proudly wore a uniform as he served our country and knows firsthand the dangers law enforcement officers face as they don their uniform and serve our community."

Parks pointed out that Jeff Denham is the kind of leader who follows through on his promises and gets things done.

"Unlike Jim Patterson, Jeff Denham knows that sustaining the number of police officers hired is as important as taking the credit for hiring them," Parks said.

"I am very honored to receive the endorsement of the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect the people of Fresno," said Denham.  "The government's most important basic responsibility is to protect its citizens from those who would do them harm."

Jeff Denham was recognized by the California State Sheriffs' Association as "Legislator of the Year" in 2004 and "Outstanding Legislator" in 2005. In addition, Jeff was honored as California State Sheriff's Association's "Outstanding Legislator for 2008" and as Crime Victims United's "2008 Legislator of the Year."
